There are three kinds of trans girls:
Straight, Bi/Pan, and Lesbians.
Most heterosexual men are not willing to date a trans woman. Most gay men are not attracted to femininity and do not usually go for trans women - especially if they get bottom surgery. That removes most of the males from our dating pool.
Most straight women are attracted to masculinity, and would be unwilling to date a trans woman, especially if she gets bottom surgery. While some lesbians would be okay with dating a trans woman ( I know one that's about to marry one ), if the trans woman doesn't pass extraordinarily well they likely will not be able to go out with a cis lesiban.
That reduces our dating pool down to bisexual/pan males and females as well as other trans women, on the assumption that they're also bi/pan.
ALSO, trans women tend to be bottoms by default and would like to be femme. Good luck finding a cis femme top lesbian that would go out with a trans woman (and yet they're getting married lol).

Oh I have an answer for this.
It actually comes down to hormone levels. The most testosterone you have in your system the more dominant you are. I know some cis women who are naturally very dominant, and when they get their bloodwork taken they have higher than average testosterone levels.
Traps who are not on HRT tend to have very low testosterone levels (which is why they tend to look so feminine).
Trans women who do DIY HRT tend to bottom out their T-levels as low as they can safely go (or even unsafely if they don't know wtf they're doing).
Even trans women who are taking HRT under a doctors care will usually have testosterone levels no higher than the average of a cis woman's.
In order to be dominant you need more testosterone than that.
